September summary: Zlín still top, Slavia dominate the derby

The table saw little change in September. Zlín are top having beaten Slovácko, Hradec Králové and drawn with Sparta at home. They currently have 20 points, a point clear of Boleslav and Plzeň.

Boleslav have had to contend with the departure of Karel Jarolím to the National Team, and was replaced by Leoš Kalvoda. Under Kalvoda, the team kicked off with an unexpected 2:1 defeat against Karvina, but since then have hit a winning streak, winning four matches and drawing 2:2 with Sparta.

September was embarrassing for Sparta. Sparta saw the return of Tomáš Rosický and the signing of Václav Kadlec. Despite these reinforcements, Sparta drew with Boleslav and Zlín and lost the derby 2:0 to Slavia.

While the Spartans had to deal with their poor results, Slavia under new coach Šilhavý rode a series of great results and are now fourth in the table. Newcomers to the league Karvina are seventh in the league with Hradec one place behind them.

At the bottom of the table are Příbram and Jihlava. Příbram coach, Petr Rada, at least managed his first victory of the season as they beat Teplice 3:2 .
